The Wm. T. Spaeder Company is committed to safety
We believe that leadership by example, consistent and clear safety communications, training and continued engagement of our employees identifying and eliminating workplace hazards; will produce a positive safety culture for many years.
Spaeder promotes employee involvement through our certified safety committee and employee “safety perception” survey, and we encourage the reporting of all near misses and employee safety concerns. We publish and distribute the results of our incident investigations, employee concerns and safety perception surveys to every employee.
Spaeder was recently recognized for completion of Stage III of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA Challenge, which has allowed Spaeder to determine what safety policies and procedures were most effective.
Employees were trained to identify and eliminate workplace hazards and implement the best procedures and safe practices, leading to a 50 percent reduction in OSHA recordable injuries in 2015. Our 2015 safety perception survey was distributed to all employees and confirmed our commitment to make safety the focus of everything we do.
Our 2015 employee safety perception survey score of 4.2 out of 5 confirmed our commitment that safety is at the forefront of everything we do. Our focus on safety has earned Spaeder an Experience Modifier Rate (EMR) of .779 placing us in the top percentile in our industry.
